Leaving for Michigan Saturday to see the family and party with Zack at his high school graduation. There will be, I promise, new tales of hilarity posted on the sevenbrothers_nobrides site following these twelve days of madness. I'm fairly certain that Topher and I will be sharing a room which lends itself well to bouts of mania. Plus it's the start of summer vacation which means the boys are violence on a frayed leash. Fun for all.

Galen, my climbing partner, is in Seattle for two weeks. We've been out on rock two days and in the mountains for three days out of the past seven. Summitted Mt. Colchuk on Tuesday and we leave for Rainier tomorrow afternoon after my soccer games in the morning. Five days on Rainier and likely a summit. Trust me, it's safe.

I don't feel pithy or interesting or fun. There are 99 kinds of confusion if you're interested. Was it just last summer we talked of living together? We share our thoughts, and primarily our fears and hurts, with as many people as possible to assuage our guilt. But it's not enough. There is too much to be said that you never want people to hear.

it's been snowing all day. three new inches on my car in kalamazoo. 28 degrees or so. perfect time for a bike ride. i headed out to the k college arboretum on snow/icy/slick/wet/dirty roads and after two miles realized this may be the most miserable day of my life. none of the events that were to follow would alter that notion one whit. maybe 60 feet into the trail i found that snow provides all the rolling efficiency of thick mud/molasses and makes one feel as though they have accidentally gained 40 or so pounds. instantaneously. the next hour was miserable and the painful monotony of pedaling through wet nasty was broken only when my feet became excruciatingly inflamed by the wet and cold. i decided to call it quits and rode back downtown to the gym for a hot shower and a chance to hose off my bike. nice way to finish the day. except the showers weren't working and by working i mean they stopped giving hot water. and the hose exploded releasing five gallons of water into the back hallway. i think that's when i really started to enjoy myself.

| yesterday i awoke to snow. snow so big that when a flake fell on
my arm i could actually see where they used the scissors to cut the
corners. it's the first time i've ever seen that outside a
kindergarten classroom. you know what this means? it means
that there is 3 inches of white on top of my car and unspeakable riches
of the fluffy wonderfulness just waiting to be ripped wide open
somewhere not in Michigan. i feel like Utah holds
possibility. speaking of which.....kindergarten is for
losers.
